About Him

When Dave was a little boy, friends called him “Crash Clausen” because of the unruly way he rode his tricycle. He was also known to lock himself in his bedroom for several hours only to emerge after engineering some robot to control around the house. Dave moved off to awaken his intellectual curiosity at Pomona College. Following graduation, he drove his Subaru to Stanford to study linguistics. Like so many living in Silicon Valley, he caught the computer programming bug. A master’s degree later, he started a company with college buddies. In April, they filed their first patent.
